Keyboard
Dead or sticky keys, worn letters, or a drink tipped over it. The built-in keyboard is cleaned, repaired or replaced — spills sorted before they reach the board.
Battery
Dies by lunchtime, or swelling and lifting the trackpad. A fresh cell so it holds a full day again.

Charges at an angle, keeps dropping out, or nothing at all. DC jack or USB-C charge port cleaned or replaced, matched to your HP.
Trackpad
Clicks that don’t land, a cursor that jumps, or a pad worn smooth. Repaired or replaced and tested before it goes back.
Hinge / lid
A hinge gone stiff, loose or snapped — often cracking the lid or bezel with it. Rebuilt or replaced so the lid opens the way it should.
RAM & SSD upgrade
Slow to open anything, or out of space. Adding RAM and swapping the drive to an SSD is the cheapest big speed-up there is.
Fan / overheating
A roaring fan, hot to the touch, or shutting down under load. Stripped, cleaned of dust and re-pasted with fresh thermal compound.
Ports
USB, HDMI, USB-C or headphone not doing their job. We test each one and repair or replace whatever’s failed.
Won’t power on / board-level
Dead, no charge, or gone after a knock. Often one component on the board, not a write-off — more below.
Liquid / water damage
A spill or a soaking. Power it off, don’t charge it — flat $65 assessment first.

We go to board level.
This is the bit that sends most shops running. When an HP won’t turn on, won’t charge, or goes dead after a knock, the usual line is ‘it’s finished, buy a new one’. Often it isn’t — it’s one component on the board that’s given up.
A failed charge circuit, a dropped power rail, a shorted line after a fall — we take it on and have the component-level work done by our board-level specialists. No power, no charge, dead after a drop: often fixable at the component, without replacing the whole board. And your data stays on the drive.
A dead-looking HP is usually one failed part, not a write-off. And your files never leave the machine.

The everyday physical repairs — the ones a laptop earns from being carried, opened and typed on every day. A cracked or dead LCD, a keyboard that’s had a spill or worn smooth, a hinge gone loose or snapped, a trackpad that no longer clicks. We sort all of it.
A stiff or broken hinge is worth catching early — left alone it cracks the lid, the bezel, sometimes the screen cable. Bring it in when it first feels loose and it’s a smaller job. Screens are a standard panel swap on an HP, matched to your model.

Before you replace an ageing HP, it’s worth an upgrade. Do you use original HP parts?

A newer Spectre might be worth an original panel; an older Pavilion is often better value on a quality aftermarket or refurbished part. We tell you which tier we’d fit and why before we start, never after.
My HP won’t turn on — is it dead?
Usually not. An HP that won’t power on is more often a charging fault, a dead battery, or a single failed component on the board than a genuine write-off. We take those on and have the board-level work done by our specialists — a failed charge circuit or shorted line is often fixable at the component, without replacing the whole board, and your data stays on the drive. It’s a flat $65 assessment and no-fix-no-fee.

Yes. An HP screen is a standard LCD panel behind the lid, not fused to anything, so it’s a matched-panel swap for most models — cracked glass, a black screen, backlight gone, or lines across it. Original, quality aftermarket or refurbished panel depending on your model and budget, and we tell you which before we start.
Is it worth upgrading an old laptop?
Usually, yes. Adding RAM and swapping an old hard drive for an SSD is the cheapest big speed-up there is — an ageing HP that crawls will often feel new again, for a fraction of a replacement. A fan clean and fresh thermal paste helps too if it runs hot. We’ll tell you honestly if the machine is worth it or if it’s had its day.
What warranty do I get?
Every repair carries a minimum 90-day warranty on the part and our workmanship — longer on plenty of jobs. If something we fitted plays up in that window, bring it back and we’ll sort it. It’s all no-fix-no-fee too: if we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the attempt.
