Most of our desktop customers run custom-built PCs — and we do everything and change everything. Build one from scratch, or upgrade and swap any component in a machine you already own: GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, power supply, case. And when a custom rig plays up, we repair it. From a brand-new build to a rig that won’t power on, here’s the lot we do — we build from scratch and change any component, a proper assessment first, and a straight answer before we start. Not sure what’s wrong? Bring it in, we’ll work it out for free.
Graphics card (GPU)
A GPU upgrade, no display, or artefacts and crashes in games. Fitted and tested, or diagnosed if it’s the card that’s failed, with the drivers sorted.
CPU / processor
A processor upgrade, or a chip that won’t post. Swapped and paired to a board and cooler that can actually take it.
Motherboard
The board the whole build sits on. Swapped or replaced, with the CPU, RAM, cooler and cabling refitted and tested.
RAM upgrade
Slow with a few things open, or running short of memory. More RAM is the cheapest big speed-up there is — matched to your board.
Storage (SSD / HDD / NVMe)
A faster NVMe drive, more space, or a dead disk. Fitted and your data moved across, so nothing’s left behind.
Power supply (PSU)
Nothing when you hit the button, random shutdowns, or a PSU that’s given up. Tested and replaced to suit the build.
Cooling & dust-out
Running hot or loud. A full dust-out, fresh thermal paste on the chips, and a fan and air-cooler check — air cooling, done right.
No POST / no display
Powers on but nothing reaches the screen. We work through the PSU, RAM, GPU and board to find what’s stopping it booting.
Board-level
Dead after a surge, or a fault down at a single component. Board-level work by our specialists — more below.
Liquid / water damage
A spill or a leak inside the case. Power it off, don’t switch it on — flat $65 assessment first.
Water damageWindows / software & data transfer
Crawling slow, boot-looping, a bad update, or a new drive to set up. We find the cause, then reinstall, clean up or move your data across.

THE DIFFERENCE · BOARD-LEVEL REPAIR
We go to board level.
This is the bit that sends most shops running. When a PC won’t power on, shows no display, or goes dead after a surge, the usual line is ‘it’s finished, buy a new one’. Often it isn’t — it’s the power supply, the RAM, the graphics card, or one component on the motherboard that’s given up.
We diagnose it properly, and where the fault is down at the component we have the board-level work done by our board-level specialists. A dropped power rail, a shorted line after a surge — often fixable at the component, without replacing the whole board. And through all of it your drive and your data stay put.
A dead-looking PC is usually one failed part, not a write-off. And your files never leave the machine.

UPGRADES · THE PARTS THAT COUNT
GPU, CPU and the big upgrades.
The performance parts — the ones that actually move the needle. A new graphics card for games and editing, a faster processor, more RAM so nothing chokes, and a quick NVMe drive in place of an old disk. On a custom rig there’s almost always headroom to gain.
We’ll tell you which upgrade is worth the money on your machine, and which parts your board and power supply can actually take — before you spend, not after.

COOLING · A PROPER CLEAN
Running hot or loud? A proper clean.
A tower that roars, runs hot, or throttles under load is usually choked with dust and running on dried-out thermal paste. A proper clean sorts it — and we run air cooling, set up the way it should be.
- Full dust-out — the case, fans, heatsinks and filters cleared of the dust that’s been building up and trapping heat inside
- Fresh thermal paste — the old, dried compound scraped off the CPU and GPU and replaced, so heat actually moves off the chip
- Fan & air-cooler check — every case and cooler fan tested and replaced if it’s noisy or failing, for steady airflow through the machine

Do you build custom PCs from scratch?
Yes — it’s a lot of what we do. Pick the parts yourself, or tell us the budget and what it’s for and we’ll spec the whole thing — CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, power supply, cooling and case. We build it, cable it tidily, install Windows and test it properly before it comes home.
Can you upgrade my existing PC?
Yes — any part. A new graphics card, more RAM, a faster NVMe or SSD, a bigger power supply, a fresh CPU, or a full clean and re-paste. We’ll check your board and PSU can take the upgrade, tell you honestly what’s worth the money, and fit and test it before it goes back.
My PC won’t turn on or shows no display — can you fix it?
Usually, yes. A PC that won’t power on or shows no display is more often the power supply, the RAM, the graphics card, or the motherboard than a write-off. We work through each one to find the cause, and where the fault is down at the component we have the board-level work done by our specialists. It’s a flat $65 assessment and no-fix-no-fee, and your drive and data stay put.

A dust-out and a re-paste, mostly. A tower that runs hot and loud is usually choked with dust and running on dried thermal paste. We strip it down, clear the case, fans, heatsinks and filters, replace the paste on the CPU and GPU, and check every fan and air cooler for steady airflow. We run air cooling, done properly — quieter, cooler and no throttling.
What warranty do I get?
Every build and repair carries a minimum 90-day warranty on the parts and our workmanship — longer on plenty of jobs. If something we fitted plays up in that window, bring it back and we’ll sort it. It’s all no-fix-no-fee too: if we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the attempt.
Do you work on prebuilt or branded desktops?
Yes. Custom rigs are most of what we see, but branded and prebuilt desktops are welcome too — an Apple iMac, an HP or Lenovo tower, or any prebuilt machine. Same bench, same honest answer: we’ll tell you what’s worth doing before we start.
